Steps to Apply for Financial Aid

Complete the Non-Custodial Profile

The CSS Profile is required from both of your biological parents. A Profile application ( ) is required from the non-custodial parent of all students whose biological or adoptive parents are divorced, separated, or never married.  The student is presented the option to have College Board contact the noncustodial parent via email at two points of the application process as notification of the application requirement.

The CSS Profile Application requires a fee which may be paid by credit/debit card or electronic check when completing the application. If you qualify for a fee waiver, it will be done online automatically by the College Scholarship Service.

In some cases, Emory will waive the request for the Profile from the noncustodial parent with the submission of the Emory Non-Custodial Waiver Petition and supporting documentation.  Instances when waivers are granted are in situations where abuse, a restraining order, incarceration, or total disability, etc. exists.
